00Iker Casillas
Came off his line quickly to deny Huntelaar one-on-one and made a great save with his legs to keep Draxler from scoring.
00Raphaël Varane
Oozed class throughout the match and displayed tremendous recovery pace at times to get back whenever Madrid were on the backfoot.
00Sergio Ramos
Went through the match with ease and only really stepped into gear whenever there was true danger at the back.
00Fabio Coentrao
Showed plenty of attacking ambition down the left-hand side but his his pace compared to Marcelo's is not as big a threat.
00Nacho Fernández
Made a few passes that went astray in the middle of the park but defensively did pretty well against Draxler.
00Xabi Alonso
Barely broke a sweat as he went about his business in the first half trying to dictate play for Real Madrid. Kept the rookie players in check and was always communicating instructions.
00Isco
Prospered in the space awarded to him and it was basically passing practice as he threaded through balls at will.
00Asier Illarramendi
Is improving with every minute he plays next to Xabi Alonso and he was allowed by his team-mate to dictate the play a little bit more from deep.
00Cristiano Ronaldo Top of the Match
Proved to be the match winner for Real Madrid once again and this was just through sheer ruthlessness.
00Jesé Rodríguez
Withdrawn after just two minutes with what looked like a nasty knee injury after a collision with Kolasinac.
00Morata
Failed to link up with Ronaldo and the other attackers and looked over eager to grab a goal himself, though he eventually got his wish with his side's third.
Substitutions
00Daniel Carvajal
Slotted in nicely at right-back and only allowed Draxler to get beyond him once.
00Casemiro
Was combative in the tackle after coming on and tightened things up in the middle.
12Gareth Bale
Came on early doors for Jese and was instrumental in all three goals.
00Ralf Fährmann
The scoreline would have been much more lop-sided if not for the Schalke keeper.
01Tim Hoogland
Had his hands full against Ronaldo but equalised for Schalke on 31 minutes.
00Benedikt Höwedes
Intelligently got his body in between the attackers and his goal on several occasions.
00Sead Kolasinac Flop of the Match
Made his tactics known early on as he went through the back of Jese, resulting in the forward coming off injured.
00Kaan Ayhan
Battled hard in the first half and attempted to get in the face of Xabi Alonso and Illarramendi but ended up just running himself into the ground.
00Joel Matip
Was left for dead by Ronaldo and then gave the ball away cheaply as Madrid scored two within a minute in the second period.
10Max Meyer
Popped up everywhere along that Schalke frontline and was the player most likely to make something happen in central areas for the visitors.
00Julian Draxler
Had a couple of moments when he had plenty of space to drive into the box, but didn't take advantage.
00Roman Neustädter
Looked decent on the ball and spread the ball nicely from side to side whenever Madrid retreated into their own half.
01Chinedu Ogbuke Obasi
Displayed his pace and dribbling skill at times in the first half but struggled when faced with Ramos.
00Klaas-Jan Huntelaar
Was absolutely desperate to get on the scoresheet against his former club and tried his luck with various long range attempts.
Substitutions
00Kyriakos Papadopoulos
Was booked for a cynical pull of Bale's shirt.
10Adam Szalai
Barely had a touch of the ball after coming on and only succeeded in hacking the back of Sergio Ramos' leg for a Madrid free kick.
