World Cup 2014 Dream Team

As all the teams have been officially booked thier places for World Cup 2014, we shall have a look at the best XI out of the bunch of talented players going to feature for their country. It is very difficult to choose only 11 from the list which includes talents like Ronaldo, Suarez, Van Persie, Messi, Rooney to name a few. Many big talents will be missing in this team. I decided to choose the modern 4-2-3-1 formation for our team. Lets get started...

GK - Manuel Neuer - Germany
After a stunning last season with Bayern Munich, Neuer continue to show his form this season also. He has been outstanding and has cemented his place in Germany and
Bayern squad and lately in our team. With Casillas not finding regular first team chance for Real Madrid and ageing Buffon, Neuer is the best keeper to be in Brazil.
Honourable Mentions : Thiabut Courtois (Belgium), Hugo Lloris (France), Gianluigi Buffon (Italy), Iker Casillas (Spain)

RB - Philip Lahm - Germany
No question about the ability of this man and he has been in the peak of his playing career, he is arguably the best in that position. Being the captain of his country
and club, he has been an unattachable member of both squad.
Honourable mentions : Dani Alves (Brazil), Pablo Zabaleta (Argentina)

CB - Thiago Silva – Brazil
One of the most wanted man in defence, Thiago Silva makes our list. At 29, he is certainly finding his best form and at the right time. He will be a key man for Brazil
if they are to win the Cup.

CB - Per Mertasacker - Germany
The third German on the list and you say why not, he has been a key figure for Arsenal and Germany since last season. Strong tackle, tall and his dangerous header
in the opponents box makes him the most complete centre back.
Honourable mentions : Sergio Ramos(Spain), Gerard Pique (Spain), Vincent Kompany(Belgium), Giorgio Chiellini(Italy)

LB - Leighton Baines - England
The first English to make this list, Baines is currently the best left back in Premier League. Not only his defensive works, but his ability to go forward and join
the team's attack makes him a wanted man at Old Trafford. He can also take penalties and free kicks as he is doing it currently with his club Everton.
Honouramle mentions : Jordi Alba(Spain), Ashley Cole(England), Marcelo(Brazil)

CM - Andres Iniesta - Spain
Iniesta has to be in this team to make it world class. He has been one of the finest midfielder in the world till now and some people even consider him better than the
legendary Zidane. His outstanding vision and ability to win possession have made him an integral part of Barcelona and Spain. Many people takes him as the main reason
for Messi's success at Barcelona.

CM - Bastian Schweinsteiger - Germany
Started his career as a left winger, who would have thought Schweinsteiger would be a great centre midfielder. He has sipmly been unplayable last season. While many
people consider Ribery as the main hero of Bayern's treble winning season, he has been the unsung hero in that team. His passing ability, tackles and long range shoot
is worth praise.
Honourable mentions : Yaya Toure(Ivory Coast), Xavi(Barcelona), Andrea Pirlo(Italy)

RW - Franck Ribery - France
The best player in Europe will certainly make this list. Ribery has been in the best form and his contribution has let his club won the treble last season and a strong
start this season. Usually playing on the left wing, Ribery is also comfortable on the right.
Honourable mentions : Angel di Maria (Argentina), Arjen Robben(Netherlands), Thomas Muller (Germany)

CAM – Mesut Ozil - Germany
Behind the striker is what Ozil loves to play and who else will compete him here. Ozil, aften called as the assist king has shown his class at Real Madrid and now in
the Premier League with Arsenal. Still at 25, Ozil has a lot to offer for his club and country.
Honourable mentions : Cesc Fabregas(Spain), David Silva(Spain), Oscar(Brazil), Wayne Rooney(England)

LW - Cristiano Ronaldo - Portugal
Having booked his nation’s place in the World Cup finals with another hat-trick, it would be simply impossible to not include Ronaldo in this dream team. Power, pace
and accuracy has been his introduction on the pitch. He is a top contendor to win Ballon d'or rivalling Ribery, Messi and Ibrahimovic for the prestigious award.
Honourable mentions : Eden Hazard (Belgium), Neymar(Brazil)

ST -  Lionel Messi – Argentina
Is there any better goal scorer than this man? I guess no. Even with a injury trobuled season, he has managed to score goals and consider the ultimate winner of
Ballon d'or. He might not be a perfect No.9, someone like Lewandowski, Van Persie or Benzema, he is the one to lead this team attack. Apart from his scoring quality
he creates a lot of goal and so he is a hybrid of No.9 and 10.
Honourable mentions : Sergio Aguero(Argentina), Radamel Falcao(Colombia), Robin van Persie(Netherland), Luis Suarez(Uruguay)

Its mine best XI and it could be different than yours, so keep commenting your choice.
